The Malaysian military is reporting that the missing Malaysian Airlines 777 was last tracked by military radars over the Malacca Strait at 2:40 AM on the night of its disappearance. This means that it was far off course and heading toward India or the Middle East. The distance from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia to Beijing is 2,700 miles, and from Kuala Lumpur to Tehran 3,900 miles. Depending on how the plane had been fueled, it may or may not have been able to travel that distance, but if terrorists aboard intended to use it to fly into targets in India, it could easily have reached any number of Indian cities.
