"Who watches the watchers? Your TV."
In late February, Edward Snowden posted this Tweet regarding a New York Times article showcasing a new data-collection company, TVision Insights, that makes use of smart-TV technology to gather data on the viewing habits of its audience. Snowden hardly needed to elaborate on what his tweet meant: currently under asylum in Russia, Snowden is the poster-boy of Big Brother-style surveillance, having exposed a broad-reaching covert surveillance program being conducted by the NSA on American and international citizens. Snowden's aim: to remind us that through smart-TV devices, Big Brother could still be watching.
