Peru: Alleged UFO Causes Astonishment in Huamachuco

Residents of the southern section of Huamachuco are astonished by the sighting of an unidentified flying object (UFO) in the province of Sanchez Carrion, La Libertad region.

According to witnesses, the UFO ahs been over Cerro Tucupina since early hours this morning and does not appear to have moved from the site despite the passing of time, therefore dismissing the possibility of it being an aircraft.

Residents of Huamachuco have employed technology to photograph the UFO (cellphones and other devices). Meanwhile, they observed that a video camera at the Marcabalito sector managed to capture images of the UFO which apparently displays many lights, particularly red ones.

Reactions among the onlookers range from considering a sign of the end of the world to a sign of good luck.

[Ed. - It was suggested last week that the object could belong to Google's Project LOON, but this has not been confirmed. The project LOON high altitude WiFI Internet hub was launched from South America, but appears to be in Southeast Asia at the moment. Their configuration is also different.]
