The Danger of Gene Drives by Dr. Tyler Kokjohn

Genetically modified salmon has just been approved for human consumption by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (1). It is unclear whether AquAdvantage salmon will be accepted by consumers, but this consent suggests more genetically modified animals will appear in the marketplace. However, gene manipulation technologies have advanced enormously in scope, precision and power in the years since faster-growing salmon were engineered. Both regulators and the public will struggle to keep pace.

New Evidence Found for a Large Planet in the Outer Solar System

A team of planetary scientists from the California Institute of Technology have published a paper documenting strong circumstantial evidence for a large planet with an orbit outside of Pluto's. This yet-undiscovered planet is hypothesized to be smaller than Neptune, but would be 10-times more massive than Earth, and comes no closer than 30.5 billion km (19 billion miles) to the Sun.

Argentina: CEFAE - Ten UFO Cases Studied by the Kirchner Administration

During the four years in which the Comisión para el Estudio de Fenómenos Aeroespaciales (CEFAE) was in operation - announced with great fanfare by former president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner - little was known about its operation and financing. A 12-page PDF file containing 10 sightings reports was presented in December 2015: The Kirchnerian "Blue Book".

The administration of Christina Kirchner created a Commission for the Study of Aerospace Phenomena (CEFAE, in Spanish) attached to the Argentinean Air Force. After four years without official information, almost everything about the project is a mystery, especially the expenses it caused when the commission itself is practically defunct.

A group of researchers representing the State was formed in mid-2011 to approach the UFO phenomenon in a scientific manner. For the first time, and at the official level, there was talk of the need to study the growing number of unidentified flying object sightings in the national airspace, representing an interesting news item if nothing else, taking into consideration [Argentina's] scant history in this field. The announcement, made with great fanfare, promised that the commission would be comprised by experts from the National Weather Service, engineers, pilots, radar technicians, computer experts and geologists. An army of specialists from whom no further word was heard.

Captain Mariano Mohaupt was CEFAE's first director - a man of terse words whose tenure was brief. He was replaced by Commodore Guillermo Aloi and then by Rubén Lianza, a retired AAF officer. The fact is that faced with the paucity of news interviews granted by the members of that strange commission, questions increased among the fans and followers of the phenomenon. What did they do? Why had they not presented any documents analyzing photographs, eyewitness accounts or videos? What were they looking for, and with what funding?

The first CEFAE report was finally published in December 2015 after 54 months of mystery and not presenting the slightest evidence of work or activity. The thin, 12-page PDF, lacking anyone's signature, offers the end result: 10 cases studied in over 4 years, sightings from November 2014 to November 2015. No explanation was offered for what they did during all the previous years. The report appeared, by chance, at the end of the Kirchner Administration. As an example, the U.S. Project Blue Book covered 12,618 cases for the years between 1947 and 1969, when the project ended.

The Commission

The Comisión de Estudio de Fenómenos Aeroespaciales was created by Resolution No. 414/2011 of the Chief of staff of the Argentinean Air Force in order to organize, coordinate, and execute a methodical investigation of the possible causes for Unidentified Flying Objects specifically reported within Argentinean air space, publishing the results of those cases for which a certain and exact conclusion had been reached.

It consisted of permanent staff members of the Argentinean Air Force and specialists of proven experience in different fields of research, offering invaluable support in the analysis of each case from different perspectives.

In order to reach certain and exact conclusions, having truthful information that accurately describes the phenomenon witnessed is essential. The Commission has an office in Retiro, where it welcomes citizens who wish to submit their cases.

The Cases

The report published in December accounts for the 10 cases mentioned, accompanied by explanatory photos and screen caps from an astronomy software package.

Explanations for the cases mostly involve known objects in the sky, such as stars, planets or the moon itself; aircraft photographed at a distance; birds, and even a ball thrown into the air.

The report can be seen (in Spanish) at: http://ift.tt/1QfaxDq

Did Hurricane Alex Cause a Melting Event in Greenland?

Earlier this month, the North Atlantic experienced a rare January hurricane, named Hurricane Alex. While Alex's northward track kept it in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, it's arrival in the waters south of Greenland coincided with a sudden outflowing of meltwater through a bay in the Western Greenland, indicating that the warm winds that accompanied Alex had triggered a melting event.

Fairy Tales may be Far More Ancient than we Realize

Fairy tales are an intrinsic part of our lives: in childhood, we are entertained and educated by the lessons imparted in their stories, and later in life, they continue to inspire and be adapted into popular culture, spawning new books, movies, television and video games.

While some of our oldest fairy tales can be traced to the 6th century storyteller Aesop, there is some contention that he based his stories on older fables. 19th century author Wilhelm Grimm said that he believed that the tales that he and his brother Jacob authored were thousands of years old, but this idea was dismissed by others shortly afterward. However, a new study shows that the origins of fables that have been retold over the centuries may have roots in our deep past.

Cave Paintings May Depict 36,000 Year-Old Volcanic Eruption

In comparison to geological timescales, human documentation of geological events only extends back into a mere fraction of the Earth's past: the oldest-known depiction of a volcanic eruption is found in Turkey, in a mural dating back to 6,600 BCE. But according to a new paper published in the journal PLoS ONE, that date may have just been pushed back even further, by a scene painted in France's Chauvet-Pont D'Arc cave.

Discovered in 1994, Chauvet-Pont D'Arc cave is the home to an extensive gallery of Paleolithic cave art, created over a number of periods between 23,000 and 36,000 years ago. The illustrations in this cave are the earliest known examples of human art, documenting the evolution of mankind's artistic expression.

Use of Antidepressant Drugs During Pregnancy Increases Autism Risk by 87%

A new study, published in the journal JAMA Pediatrics, has found that the use of antidepressant drugs during pregnancy can dramatically increase the chances of the child developing autism.

The study, conducted at the University of Montreal, reviewed data on 145,456 pregnancies, drawn from the Quebec Pregnancy Cohort, of which provided a wealth of data regarding the medical histories of the children involved, up to the age of ten. While a large number of factors were reviewed in the study, one statistic stood out: the use of antidepressants during the latter two trimesters of pregnancy increased the chances of a child developing autism by 87%, over those that were diagnosed with the condition, but who's mothers had not been prescribed antidepressants.

Wild Bees are Less Abundant in Areas Where They are Needed

While there has been a great deal of attention placed on the phenomenon of colony collapse disorder, the bees that are affected by CCD are commercial honeybees, with known populations that have numbers that can be easily quantified. However, the pollination provided by wild bees is also important to the growth cycle of crops, and supplements the job done by commercial honeybees. But as their hives aren't monitored by beekeepers, a loss in their numbers aren't as immediately noticed.

museo_militar_coruna

mesa_calculadora

2015 was the Hottest Year on Record

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has released their year-end report on the planet's average temperatures, and 2015 has proven to the warmest year since record keeping began in 1880 -- by a wide margin. The year also left a trail of multiple broken temperature records in it's wake, for both yearly and monthly records over land, sea, and combined averages.

2015's global average temperature was a full 1.62ºF (0.90ºC) above the 20th century average, and it beat 2014's record temperature by 0.29ºF (0.16ºC). This margin is also a record, in-of-itself, being the widest observed margin on record.

The video shows the flying object over the city of Yerba Buena (Tucumán Province). After a series of movments, it rises swiftly and disappears.

A video published on YouTube displays an alleged UFO in flight in the skies over the Province of Tucumán, more specifically the city of Yerba Buena. "A mighty UFO filmed over Yerba Buena this Monday at 21:15 hours," said the reader who submitted the clip to Diario Contexto (newspaper) via WhatsApp.

"I recorded it from the 300 block of Aconquija Avenue. Another UFO passed by shortly, distancing itself quickly. The distance kept me from recording it," he added.

Argentina: A Photo of Uncertain Provenance

The image was taken last week with the simple intention of photographing the area's characteristics. However, the photographer was startled when he saw an unidentifiable shape in the picture.

"The person who took the photo used a cellphone. He is known to me and I can attest to the fact that he is a serious and responsible person," said Dr. Rubén Díaz (attorney, teacher and psychologist).

It was taken in the La Aurora field in the region of Daymán, Salto (Republic of Uruguay), a place that became mired in controversy since a series of UFO sightings took place there in the 1970s.

Many visitors have come to the site since then, most of them from Argentina, but no other sightings have been recorded.

Last week, the unnamed person - who the attorney preferred to keep anonymous - took a photo of the location with no other goal beyond documenting its characteristics. To his surprise, he found what could be described as an unidentified object in the image.

tecob_351

Fabled 'City of the Monkey God' Uncovered in Deep in the Jungles of Honduras

Since the early twentieth century, fortune hunters have mounted expeditions deep into the rainforests of Honduras's remote La Mosquitia region, searching for a fabled city called 'La Ciudad Blanca'. This 'White City' was spoken of by indigenous groups there, from stories passed down from their ancestors, whom used the city as a refuge from invading conquistadors.

A Hum And Strange Occurrences In Kansas City

I received this report from a witness today.  He reports a humming sound and strange happenings in Kansas City, Kansas.

"Hey so my friend and I have both heard the hum in the Kansas city Kansas area and it also included strange lights. This has also occurred only once thus far. Here is my friends story- I was about to go to sleep when I noticed a monotonous noise coming from outside and then later there were police sirens that were repeatedly crossing the road. There were also these strange flashing lights and a military cargo bob earlier that day.

And here's mine-

I was in my bed, at 2:00 in the morning. I'm laying in bed trying to go to sleep because I was on my laptop and it ran out of battery. And at exactly 2:14 AM, a hum starts. It would last for half a second, then pause for a quarter of a second. It repeated, and got faster and faster. After a little while, it would start over. Full of fear, I decided to get out of bed and look out the window. I see nothing, besides what should be out there. Until I look up. I see two stars in the sky. One actually is a star, and the other looks like one. Except for the flashing blue, red, and green lights. I grab my glasses, to get a clearer look, and I was not wrong. I climb back into my bed, and hope that this is a dream, but it feels too real. My cat wakes up and starts acting REALLY weird. She kept trying to get under my arm, as if I could protect her. After about a minute, the scariest thing in my life happened. A bright blue light shines from outside. I was only able to see it due to the window
on the front of my house and my bedroom door being left open. I sit in bed, petrified in fear, until I gain the courage to check it out. I grab my crossbow from my drawer and I walk through the second floor. I don't enter any of the rooms, because I was too scared to. I put my crossbow down, in a different part of my room, and get into bed. After about fifteen minutes, I hear footsteps. They go into the bathroom and I hear it lift up the seat on the toilet. After that, I hear it pee into it. It's sound really messed up, but it's true. I don't know what to do. I never hear the footsteps leave the bathroom. Throughout all this time, I hear the Hum. After that, I fall asleep. When I wake up, I check to see where the crossbow is. It is where I left it after I checked the second floor. I then checked the toilet. There is urine.  I tell my friends, but none believe me, except for one.

Please, if you can help me, do it. Me and my friend are both scared. If you need to get this story out, do it. Just do whatever you can to stop the Hum. It needs to be recognized by the world. Thank you."

*          *          *

Is it possible that the underground "SubTropolis" could be the source of the hum that is being heard?  But what about the lights and someone, or something entering this person's home?
If you have experienced anything like this in the Kansas City, Kansas/Missouri area, please let us know.
~ Sunny

Cuba: UFOs, Ufonauts and a Compelling Documentary

Cuba: UFOs, Ufonauts and a Compelling Documentary

By Scott Corrales

The island nation of Cuba is in the public eye once again due to a thawing in diplomatic relations with the United States following fifty years of animosity between the island’s Castro regime and nine U.S. presidential administrations. Embassies have opened in the respective capitals of both countries and the future looks guardedly promising.

As these developments occur in the political landscape, more information becomes readily available on the ufological sphere thanks to the efforts of Cuban researchers like Orestes Girbau, whose articles have been prominently featured in INEXPLICATA, the journal of the Institute of Hispanic Ufology. Mr. Girbau is a guiding light of the Asociación Cubana de Ufología (Cuban Ufology Association, or A.C.U. by its Spanish initials).

One of the most intriguing items of information – and clearly one of the most compelling ones – is a documentary created in 1997 after the island had experienced an intense wave of UFO activity, coinciding with the nearly non-stop UFO/paranormal activity in neighboring Puerto Rico. This visual work bears the title UFOs – in Cuba? (OVNIS ¿En Cuba?) and runs only a few minutes short of an hour. It was directed and produced by Octavio Cortazar, Armando Linares and Hugo Parrado Frances, edited by Hector Falagán de Cabo and with modest but very effective special effects created by Miguel Coyula. It can best be described as a survey of the Nineties saucer/occupant wave, but alludes to a number of historical events that are not widely known outside the island.

Date: Sunday, October 15, 1995
Time: 9:30 a.m.
Location: Torrente, Province of Matanzas

October 1995 would represent a significant date for Cuban ufology: the first mention of a traditional UFO occupant encounter in the mold of the 1973 UFO Wave. It involved a peasant named Alfredo Zárate, 74, who speaks on camera for the production.

"I happened to be cutting cane, and then decide to light a cigar," explains Zarate, walking across a field, followed by the camera. "That's when I saw a craft descending. Then, before it touched the ground, it braked and made a soft descent. When it landed, I saw a man emerge from it, from inside. He was camouflaged. he then turned around and went around the craft. I thought he was talking to another, but I couldn't see him. I suppose it took him around three minutes, more or less. Then he came around again, grabbed some grass, opened the door to the craft and went in. There was an outburst of air, the craft was lifted upward, and then a blast of fire followed. Blue fire. Then it vanished."

The camera focuses on the farmer as he recalls the astonishing event. "When the craft took off, I came to the spot [where it had been] and saw it had left some marks on the ground, right here where I'm standing," he explains, gesturing with his arms. "From that point on, well, the police got involved and measured, saying it was five meters long by two meters wide."

Zárate shakes his head. "No, it made no noise. All it did was give off a burst of air pressure, and the machine was lifted up. This was followed by a burst of flame and it took off. I didn't see it again. No, it wasn't an airplane or a helicopter, because I got to work with the Russians and got to see many machines there, and none of them resembled this. Since the day that device landed there, I've tried planted crops on the spot, but the seeds have been no good. I don't know if maybe they scattered something, or what. See how odd this is - on the site where the craft landed, it is more burned than anywhere else," he waves a hand over a discolored field of shoots." At this point the camera pulls away slightly and cuts to a new scene, discussing the fact that Cuba had not yet experienced the abduction phenomenon that was sweeping other countries. But elderly Mr. Zarate soon returns to speak about this possibility.

“A cousin of mine vanished,” he explains grimly, in profile. “I don’t know if it has anything to do with these craft or not. That’s all I can tell you. Here in this town, people brought it up after that vehicle had been here. People say it could’ve been that craft that took him away. I can’t say that it was indeed that craft, since I didn’t see it. They searched for him here, and they searched well. Here, anyone who gets lost in the wilderness is looked for by the people, and the Army goes out as well, because a battalion went in there. Plus the people. Look, that was from here,” Zarate gestures, pointing a finger in the air, “to way over there. People everywhere. Acre by acre, all the way in there [the wilderness]. Well, you can imagine the things people say about the craft maybe carrying him away and what not. But I don’t believe in that.” The honest famer looks away from the camera, perhaps to conceal his tears.

The October 18 1995 issue of the “Girón” newspaper summarized the case in a brief news item entitled “Ovnis en Jaguey?” – Adolfo Zarate, a smallholder, who witnessed the strange event, says that he was working on his field when he witnessed the descent of a saucer-shaped object with the approximate size of a light car. According to the 74-year-old witness, the flying object remained on the ground for some minutes while a human-looking figure, dressed in camouflage and wearing a helmet, descended to collect plant specimens before returning to the ship. Zárate adds that the UFO began to rise immediately, issuing a strange buzzing sound and vanishing in a southward direction after an explosion. The authorities inspected the site and confirmed the existence of flattened grass and compacted earth.”

There is a sad follow-up to the Zárate experience.

The blog Ovnis Cubanos (http://ift.tt/206tIS5) features an article written in June 2005 by Carlos Alberto Heredero García concerning a visit to Adolfo Zárate’s farm by the author and his friend Erick Mota. The two UFO researchers received a cold welcome from relatives who wanted no further association with flying saucers. They soon found that interviewing the elderly smallholder would be next to impossible, as he was in a state of depression and in poor health. Things had gone badly for him since the UFO experience, and he now regretted it. Mockery by the press and neighbors alike was worsened by the discourteous treatment he received by the island's scientific establishment, and journalists accusing him of trying to profit from the sighting.

UFO sighting reports were received from the localities of Puerto Padre, Majibacoa, San Antonio de los Baños and Florida (Camaguey Province) were received in following days, witnessed by civilians and military personnel on duty.

An even more spectacular case took place in mid-December 1995, when the EFE news agency reported that a UFO had supposedly to the south of Havana in a community known as Guara. The news wire noted that a number of non-human entities had emerged from the object, collected samples of vegetation, and –more disturbingly – had taken some people with them, a claim that was never confirmed. In the light of the disappearance of Adolfo Zárate’s cousin, one can only wonder.

A UFO abduction incident of a more familiar sort is also featured in the OVNIS-¿En Cuba? Documentary. It concerns the experiences of Anisia Arias in late 1990, interviewed by the documentarians in what appears to be her own home, face to the camera without any form of concealment.

“I went out to the yard,” she explains in a melodious voice, “I looked up at the sky, saw a little light moving, resembling a satellite, toward the north, near the star Polaris. It stopped abruptly, went backward, descended, and remained stationary some 500 meters from where I stood, some 100 meters above the ground. That’s when I was able to make out its shape. It was semi-oval, disc-shaped, with a slightly bulging, dome-shaped upper section, made of a material very similar to aluminum, brilliant aluminum, surrounded by a halo that outlined its contour. Suddenly, before I had a chance to react, the object flew over to where I was at tremendous speed, coming to within 5 meters of where I stood. I found myself encompassed by its luminous halo, which was like a fog. I was able to see something inside the dome which I couldn’t quite make out. That’s when I lost consciousness. What happened, I do not know. What do I think happened? I don’t know that either. All I know is that when I came to, I was inside the house again. How I got there, I don’t know, because I was in the yard. I found myself inside the house like someone who has been dropped in from a height. I could feel my knees buckling, and I made a considerable effort to make myself rigid to recover and remain standing, which I was able to do. I breathed deeply, recovered, and was able to see that everything was very well lit. The object was outside the door. I heard a sound – a sound like a very high-pitched buzz. I knew it was behind me, but I was very afraid, and did not turn to look. I walked toward the living room, phoned my mother, and told her: “Quick, get up! There’s a fireball behind me trying to burn the house down.” I kept walking and exited through the bedroom door, looking at the ceiling for signs of fire, since the object appeared to be on fire, which wasn’t true. I then looked into the sky, into space, and was able to see the object flying away to the north, toward where it had come, near the North Star. I stayed in the yard, and when I tried to walk, I felt pain in my feet, as though they were very heavy. I could feel cramps traveling up my legs, like an electrical current. I felt extremely tired, overcome with sleep. My mother was asking me questions, but I couldn’t answer her. I wasn’t able to speak that night. I went to bed in my clothes.”

Mrs. Arias steeples her fingers and glances sideways. “The next day, I got up and noticed that the daylight hurt my eyes. I tried to remember, but I still felt tired and a little stupefied. I was able to recall what had happened with great effort, and I was able to see that plants that come into the object’s proximity were wilted. As the days went by, they kept changing color and dried up, until they were completely dry.”

Interested in learning more about her “missing time” ordeal, Mrs. Arias underwent hypnotic regression, a session of which is shown in the documentary. Lying on a pink patterned bedspread, eyes closed, the woman answers weakly to the hypnotist’s questions, with captioning on the screen to facilitate the viewer’s understanding of the session.

“They were blonde,” she mumbles. “I remember their faces. Blonde and skinny. They have equipment looking like radios. They were touching my arms, squeezing my face…they had me in a sitting position…white seats…[the craft’s interior]…is white and rounded…and the seats were white.”

We are then shown how the hypnotist brings the session to a close as Mrs. Arias starts breathing heavily, recalling how the entities inserted pins into her right hand.

In April 1982, as hundreds of residents of Havana took their nightly stroll along the seaside promenade known as the Malecón, there was a bright flash over Havana Bay which immediately caused them to think they were under attack. Warheads, however, did not drop out of the darkness. Instead, there was an overwhelming brightness which gradually coalesced into an image of the Blessed Virgin--more specifically, Cuba's patroness, la Caridad del Cobre--extending her arms toward the startled masses on the promenade, as she remained suspended in the night sky. Unlike traditional images of the Blessed Virgin, this one did not bear the Christ-child in arms, nor were there any other religious items (crosses, etc.) associated with it. The divine protector appeared to be wearing a snow white mantle which contrasted even more so against the prevailing darkness.

The story was featured in Las Nubes del Engaño ("The Clouds of Deceit"), one of the most important books written by Spanish researcher Andreas Faber Kaiser, who would meet an untimely end, allegedly at the hands of the intelligence services. According to Faber Kaiser, Cuban authorities did their best to suppress the story, but it reached Miami-based broadcasters WRHC and WQBA. Further reports indicated that the divine image was seen again days later at port of Mariel, where it was taken to be Our Lady of Regla. The consternation created by this second sighting caused soldiers to open machine gun fire against the image. At least one of these men would require psychiatric treatment as a result of this experience. Reports of similar responses were received from the cities of Guanabo and Trinidad as well.

Faber Kaiser suggested that a U.S. Navy submarine that projected an advanced holographic image as part of psychological warfare operations against the Cuban government. While it may be hard to believe in both the sophistication of such techniques, and the fact that their use would ever be authorized, the fact remains that it would be one--albeit the most spectacular--ever employed against that island's socialist regime. On February 2, 1962, the Pentagon authorized a number of psychological warfare techniques which ranged from bombarding the city of Havana with free plane tickets for destinations such as Mexico and Venezuela as well as photographs showing Fidel Castro entertaining foreign women in expensive restaurants.

The world is indeed a small place, and it shouldn’t cause us any surprise to find the answer to a riddle in an entirely different part of the planet. Manuel Carballal, a world-traveler and member of Spain’s 3rd generation of UFO researchers, happened to find himself in Mongolia on an unrelated mission when he had the opportunity to interview General Battsagan Tsiiregzen. The military man offered new information concerning the Havana psy-ops event of 1982.

General Tsiiregzen had been part of his country's diplomatic mission to Cuba at the time. He witnessed how a policeman drew his sidearm and fired at the apparition, being so unnerved by the event that he was hospitalized and given psychiatric treatment. A Russian sailor, informed the general, had a similar experience, due to his inability to fit what he was seeing within the Marxist-Leninist framework of his upbringing. The Mongolian attaché was also able to confirm another story--that a scuba diver who had been in the water in the vicinity of the apparition had lost consciousness and had been brought to an emergency room. According to the story, whenever the hapless diver opened his eyes, he would goggle as though witnessing a vision, and would then lose consciousness again.

In the city of Trinidad, southwest of Havana, strange phenomena apparently played out while the divine patroness cast her beatific gaze over the bewildered townspeople. There were reports of strange odors in the air and smoke issuing from the floors of every dwelling.

The amazing account by the Mongolian diplomat was included in Carballal's own book, Los Expedientes Secretos (Planeta,2001), and he adds the highly intriguing detail that the U.S. intelligence community is believed to have planned a follow-up to its successful 1982 demonstration: to spread the belief among Cubans that Fidel Castro was the Antichrist foretold in the Book of Revelation, projecting a holographic image of Christ over the skies. It was believed that this "miraculous" event would unleash a rebellion that would overthrow the government.

Reports of gunfire directed against unidentified flying objects are also featured in the OVNIS - ¿En Cuba? Documentary.

At 8 p.m. on December 14, 1995 the community of Guara, located south of Havana, had its daily routine interrupted by an unknown presence in the sky. People took to the streets to get a better view of the “light”, described as large and yellow, surrounded by smaller red lights. It hovered over the cane fields with the undulating motion so common to the phenomenon since its earliest descriptions. Local children interviewed for the project believed that the object was interested in taking sugarcane samples, and the mysterious visitor made no noise whatsoever as it maneuvered only inches over the crops.

“Some soldiers on duty opened fire against it,” says one of the youngsters, creating an imaginary weapon with his hands. “They fired flares (sic) at it with their rifles, but what [the UFO] did was scattered their bullets like this,” making another expansive gesture, “like when you’re shooting at something and a big light happens.” The documentary substantiates the children’s account with eyewitness testimony provided by their elders.

Objects were also reported in the village of Camacho, not far from Batabanó, where they flew over a shooting range, where villagers could hear soldiers opening fire against them. Ricardo Cala, who happened to be driving his truck toward the village, heard shouts coming from the men he carried in his payload. “In came a UFO, a saucer, and I was startled. I looked through the truck window, and when I saw that reflection, looking like a balloon, having a fully illuminated small base, flying past my vehicle. The time was between eight and eight thirty in the evening. It flew at some fifty meters from the vehicle, because it was really close by. The only thing was it didn’t let you get a better look at it due to the amount of light it put out. It made no noise and we felt nothing. We kept going and it paced us for some ten minutes, more or less. Then, as we entered the village of Camacho, that was when we heard gunfire. I wondered if that thing was doing the shooting, but no, there was a military unit nearby firing at it. Tracer rounds were visible, the tiny red light of the tracers, and fifteen seconds after the shooting started, that thing vanished out of sight.”

Mr. Cala also added to his testimony that the object’s presence had caused a blackout through the area, a peculiarity common to UFO cases elsewhere in Latin America.

There was also hostile response to unwelcome UFO activity in 1968, when objects of unknown origin buzzed a military facility on Cabañas Bay in 1967. The troops quartered at this installation were jolted out of bed shortly after midnight by a blast of machine gun fire from the sentry box manned by Isidro Puentes. A squad was rushed to the area, but the sentinel was not at his post. Dozens of spent rounds were later found in the area, completely crushed as if they had impacted a very solid object upon impact. Even more ominous was the discovery of burn marks that suggested the landing of a large object with an estimated weight of ten tons.

The missing guard was found later in the morning, completely unconscious. He was taken to a military hospital, where he remained in shock and unable to speak for nearly seven days. The hapless soldier was then transported to a neurology unit, where scans showed that he had no brain damage, but still remained unresponsive. When he finally emerged from his trance-like state, the soldier told the medical staff and investigating officers that he had seen "strange lights" behind the trees, and upon investigation, was faced with a large object shaped like a "luminous sphere." Believing that the object could be the spearhead of a U.S. invasion force, the soldier fired at it, and could remember little else.

Climate Researcher Declares Normal Weather in the U.K. to be a Thing of the Past

In response to record-breaking warm, wet weather in Britain, professor Myles Allen of the Climate Research Programme at University of Oxford’s Environmental Change Institute, has declared normal weather to be a thing of the past.

Speaking in an interview with BBC's Radio 4, Allen responded: “You asked 'is this the new normal', well as I stressed, normal weather, unchanged over generations, is now a thing of the past. And if we’re building buildings and building infrastructure, we’re going to have to use climate simulations to work out what the weather will be like that that infrastructure will have to tolerate in 50 years’ time.”

Humanoids in Cuba
By Orestes Girbau

[A keynote speech to the Steering Committee of the A.C.U. at the headquarters of the Cuban Meteorology Society in Havana, Cuba, 14 November 1998]

Who are they? Where are they from? What is the reason for their visits?

These questions are a clear source of concern for late 20th century humankind, as well as a fascinating opportunity for human development, when it comes to facing facts that are as enigmatic as they are undeniable, and whose consideration is, without question, a matter of worldwide importance.
Who has not felt uncertainty or curiosity when mention is made of them on the radio, or when reading about them in specialized publications that promote the awareness of close encounters of the third kind?

These controversial entities are a matter of serious debate, and are properly documented throughout the history of UFOs.

In order to better organize the answer to the first question, please allow me to classify them, first of all, according to the analysis resulting from the experience.

Everything suggests that aliens having considerable interest in us.

These forms - to give them a name - fall into 4 main groupings with subdivisions:

1. Humanoids
2. Beastly types
3. Paraphysical entities
4. Androids (Programed or Controlled

Swiss expert Erich Zurcher conducted a statistical-comparative analysis of our visitors based on height parameters, sampling 164 French cases.
a. Up to 1.60 meters tall in 64% of cases.
b. Between 1.60 meters and 2 meters in 24% of cases.
c. Over 2 meters tall in 12% of cases.

Drawing a disproportionate analogy with five (5) forgotten close encounters in Cuba that occurred in the 1992-97 period, we find the following result:
a. Up to 1.60 meters tall in 40% of the cases.
b. Between 1.60 meters and 2 meters tall in 20% of cases.
c. Over 2 meters tall in 40% of cases.

We can see from this that the proportion of entities of intermediate stature remains coherent.

Possible aliens involved in surreptitious visits to our territory have been seen collecting plant specimens and leaving ground imprints that give away their incursions, enough to confirm any presence of the UFO phenomenon (CE-2K). They have also seen wandering in unlikely places (such as cemeteries and forbidden areas) and finally, causing a commotion among peaceful residents from the air.

On July 17 1952, a UFO was photographed over the city of Matanzas, Cuba by citizen Guillermo Zincke, employing his camera and telescope. The negatives were immediately seized by the military.

Let us then discuss the hypothesis of the origin of these "apparent" astronauts backward, because they are doing nothing more than imitating our own unquestionable aims during moon landings or other space launches since 1957.

A very fashionable but somewhat antique hypothesis has been put forth by scientists of the stature of Jacques Vallée, who appears to be convinced of the extra-dimensionality of the level in which these mysterious creatures operate, capable of controlling us by telepathy, abduct us and penetrate bedrooms while we dream. If the truth be told, Harold Goodwin, an adviser for the U.S. National Security Research Council, had already written in 1955: "It has also been suggested that flying saucers are a three-dimensional manifestation of something that comes from a parallel or multi-dimensional world existing alongside us."

Another crucial element is the arrival of galactic and intergalactic little men, an alternative made possible by hyperspatial flight, accelerated technological development and a biological capacity for survival. Would these societies, evolved in all ways, be willing to have dealings with us? Could we understand them?

Many convergent lines of thought have emerged, setting forth logical propositions that involve spatial races within the confines of our solar system, whether by selectivity or other evaluations of the phenomenon. Official science, always highly conservative, would rather not speculate about space platforms, the hypothetical planet Phaeton - disintegrated between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter, the infamous 12th planet with its unique elliptical orbit, the oft-spoken of planet Clarion, a world located beyond Pluto. Newcomers might hail from there, as the planet is impossible to see and would have the same size and mass as Earth, with the Sun always standing between both worlds. As our own planet increases or decreases speed, Clarion does the same.

Elsewhere, allusions are made to justify the poor relations between Extraterrestrial Biological Entities (EBEs) with Earthmen due to the pollution of our current atmosphere. Offworlders would conceal themselves in areas that contemporary man would find to reach, such as the ocean floor and inaccessible areas of the Lithosphere.

In any case, these ancient fellow travelers are caused us to reassess notions of our own origins and destiny. Cloning, electronic experiments involving animals and the recent history of the Cro-Magnon Man, with his evolutionary leap in brain capacity, should give us instructive possibility for answers.

If our Visitors are not Earthmen from the future, they could be linked to the dark history of some forgotten civilization, constituting an area of research within the new discipline known as Paleo-Astronautics.

Finally, what do they seek in the third blue planet? The answer is attractive, from a philosophical perspective, and has academic and ufological nuances. Perhaps they need us in ways we cannot imagine, and without meaning to do so, have kept them on tenterhooks with our lack of harmony and the deterioration of our environment.

Gathering leaves, stems and leaving a few meters of land in an awful condition, snooping around their intellectually younger brothers, subtly displaying their technological prowess, do not seem to be the only goals set by these beings. We must therefore infer (within our own mental parameters) that they are morally, ethically and spiritually superior. They are simply observing us constantly, hoping that we will understand the futility of our own lack of understanding. In the meantime, they experiment upon us with luminous beams, electromagnetic, gravitational and extra-sensory systems. Sexual relations also form part of their agendas.

It could be that human skin and our metabolism as a whole, along with our flora and fauna, minerals, the smiles of lovely Earthwomen, the causes behind feelings and tears, pain and happiness, in other words, are of interest to them. Perhaps they can see in this world of ours, on which we are burdened by its extreme conditions, a way of recovering aspects that they left behind millennia ago in the rising tide of their natural psychobiological development. Perhaps they regret having experimented excessively upon themselves; although this gives a clear (and positive) message that they were able to survive nuclear, ecological and genetic Armageddon.

The growing and "infringing" presence of these Vistors and ancient unknown characters on the premises of the Cuban archipelago pose a challenge to our understanding, and a thinly-veiled message to those who only think about Western sensationalism, mass hysteria (ironically assisted by radar, photo cameras and videos), and the wayward planet Venus, the scapegoat for myriad disinformers.

"Absurd" or aberrant experiences on the one hand, and the mystical bent of others (abductees, mystics), joined with the extrasensory powers of these entities and conveyed to some humans, according to thousands of eyewitness accounts worldwide, allow us to conclude that official researchers and ufologists alike are perplexed, finding themselves in a blind alley. Time will prove us right in the end, given the concern over this subject in many sectors.

Finally, will Science be able to give us an answer?

If Science would only trust and work more closely with genuine ufologists (whether orthodox or not) all over the world, the answer would probably be less uncertain and much more original, aiming toward a public opinion that will worthy of its trust.

Hurricane Seasons in both the Atlantic and Pacific get a Rare January Start

In an unprecedented event, two hurricanes have formed at the same time in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans in the month of January, with the Pacific storm, breaking a record as such, and also exhibiting an unusual proximity to the equator. This is also the first time on record that off-season hurricanes have formed in both the Atlantic and Pacific in the same year; to have both form in the same month adds to the extreme unusuality of the event.

UFO or Bird?

See video
Two astrophotographers found this image on their dashcam while driving in Australia. Our experts are unsure about what it is, but the consensus seems to be that it's not a fast moving insect. If it is not an unknown, then it must be a bird. We have not been able to find any type of nightbird that would fly at high speed in a straight line like this in Australia, and at such high speed. But if any of our Australian readers know different, we would be interested to hear from you. Please comment below.

Authentic UFO Video from Canada

See video
This video doesn't offer much visual information, but the witness description of what he was seeing is very precise: he was seeing a bright, diamond shaped object that appeared to be large. It was emitting a glow. He describes it as being above the water. There are no oil rigs in the area and it was not a light on a ship. He shone a flashlight at it without apparent response, but a moment later said "it's putting on quite a show." Shortly thereafter another light appeared above it. So perhaps his flashlight was indeed noticed. He described the shape as like a "spin top," and observed one object descend slowly toward the water.

Visitors: a Buddhist Perspective

Wednesday January 13, 2016
People with different religions and different cultural backgrounds have very different experiences of the close encounter phenomenon. This week we talk Visitors and Buddhism with a Buddhist experiencer. We also get a sense of what the experience is like and how such topics are treated overseas where the "gray alien" isn't as prevalent. This uniquely interesting material is practically unknown in the western UFO community, but it is very provocative and revealing.

Researcher says Gravity can be Manipulated, using Contemporary Technology

Of the four fundamental forces known to science in our culture, there are only three that can be manipulated: electromagnetic, strong nuclear, and weak nuclear. Eluding our grasp thus far is the ever-important force of gravity, forcing us to expend large amounts of energy to leave the planet's surface. However, a revolutionary proposal has been made that may change that situation.
